David ponders whether he should continue with iPISTON or not I fell into this blogging lark by accident really. I started off writing for a friends site (which is now very successful) but I also had several goes at doing my own thing. The first try was amusingly called Dave on Cars and then there was GRIDWALK, a blog dedicated to Formula 1. I learnt a lot from both but I also gave up on both. Now I’m facing the same conflict with iPISTON. I started this site in JanuaryRead More

The 2014 F1 Season So Far: Ultimate Shakedown

Emma gives us a rundown of the F1 Season so far This year, we’ve welcomed a new era of F1 in which V6 power units with higher level of energy recovery systems have replaced the ear piecing V8 engines which have been a part of F1 since 2006. Not to mention aerodynamic changes and many other aspects under the surface. The rulebook has been re-written and the slate wiped clean. The lead up and beginning of testing saw one by one, the future of F1 being revealed. For the firstRead More

iPISTONS Top Ten Cars of 2013

2014 is well underway but what were our favourite cars of 2013? Ferrari 458 Speciale The 458 Speciale was a car trying to improve on what many saw as perfection. By all accounts they managed it. McLaren P1 We’ve made no secret of the fact that the P1 is an iPISTON favourite. For that reason it had to feature in our top ten. Jaguar F-Type Coupe Just look at it. It has got to be the best looking car we’ve seen since, well, the F-Type Roadster. Nissan GTR Nismo NissanRead More
Autosport have asked me to consider who is the best driver of my generation. Colin McRae gets my vote. As I sit here writing this I am still unsure about my choice of driver for this post. Several months ago the Autosport International show organisers contacted me and asked if I could be one of the official bloggers of the 2014 show. They wanted a post about who I believed was the driver of my generation. Now the post is due and I still don’t really know who I shouldRead More

David’s Blog: October

Dream drives, a new phone, a broken car and a competition judged. It’s been a busy month for David SMMT South This month started well. A very early drive from Norwich to near Reading was required to reach SMMT South on time but it was worth getting up early for. SMMT South is run by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and is essentially a day where journalists and bloggers can pitch up and get a taste a wide range of different cars. As this website is aimed atRead More
The Guild of Motoring Writers treated us to a day of fun at Rockingham Raceway We spend so much time talking about new cars that we rarely get to talk about or enjoy our own cars. It seems that the Guild of Motoring Writers had that in mind when they planned their big day out at Rockingham Raceway. A gaggle of bloggers, journalists and photographers from the automotive world descended on Rockingham. Each of us brought along our own cars so that we could spend some time on track andRead More

David’s Blog – July 2013

July has been a quiet month but David still managed to fit in a visit to the Silverstone Classic and the Heritage Museum at Gaydon July has been a hard month for this website. Continuing commitments in the job that allows me to have a roof over my head have meant that very little time has been devoted to the website. The last thing I have wanted to do after 15 hours at work is sit in front a computer. This is a shame as I love working on iPISTONRead More

Superkart Racing – Mid-Season Report

It’s been two months, three circuits and seven races since I last checked in and we’ve certainly learnt a lot about long circuit kart racing in that time. As we reach the half-way point of our season at Snetterton this weekend for the Superkart Grand Prix (a high accolade in British motorsport, standing alongside Formula One and Moto GP as other examples of officially recognised Grand Prix races in the country), I figured it was a good time to catch up. May’s race at Castle Combe was a hot dayRead More

David’s Blog – June 2013

A drive in a Bentley and the realisation that he must realise his dream are hot topics this month for David. I love a good blag. My flat-mate thinks I have all the luck in the world but thats largely not true. That being said I have been very fortunate to attended some amazing events and do some pretty cool stuff. That’s half the reason we do this job anyway, right? Last month was no exception as I was attending the Cholmondely Pageant of power for the first time. IRead More
